Volvo - volvo 960 (1995) replacing rear brake pad

Expert: Ray Niemi - 6/11/2009

Question
Dear Sirs,

1. It seems to be that my volvo needs to replace the rear brake shoe, and could you advise the procedures and cautions?

1.1 Thanks and have a great day

Andrew

Answer
Andrew,
Unbolt the caliper piston or pad holder from the mounting frame and remove rhe pads for replacement. When the pads are out push in the piston so the new pads will fit. You may have to remove fluid from the master cylinder to allow room for the fluid you are pushing back into the system. If at all in doubt seek the advice of a Volvo tech.
