Volvo/car engines to boat?

Question
While rebuilding my boat engine a B-230 block I took it from 2.3 liters to 2.5, I couldn't find car specs on this engine, did they use it?  I've been trying to find the cam specs on boat engine cams but so far have failed to find any but for the cars for a potential cam conversion to gain more power.  Did Volvo ever use a 2.5 liter in the cars?  In the boat they made them in both single and double over head cam.

Answer
I'm not sure if you are interested in 4 or 6 cylinder engine, but within my knowledge there wasn't an early year 2.5L engine in cars.  They used a 2.0, 2.1, and 2.3 liter engine in a 4 cylinder flavor, and also a 2.7 L V-6.  Volvo also made penta engines, a marine version of their road engines, but I don't have specific sizes for you.  A good place to go for performance cam shafts is www.ipd.com.  Good luck!

Expertise

I don`t hold any official certifications, but have worked extensively with late 1970`s and early 1980`s Volvo 240 series, and personally own a 1980 240. Its gone from a hobby to obsession during the past few years, and I enjoy talking about almost every aspect of the early 240 series. I`ve developed relationships with many Volvo mechanics, and tour salvage yards regularly for parts and good information!

Experience

I've performed many exaustive mechanical operations on my car personally, including a
brake system overhaul, a complete drivetrain changeout, various misc mechanical and
electrical tasks, and almost complete replacement of everything cosmetic.
