AboutRoger Patricio Expertise Can answer all Volvo car questions. European and Canada spec cars are different but I can try to help you.
Experience I am a Certified Volvo Tech at in Independent Volvo Repair shop. I grew up around Volvos and decided I wanted to do it professionally. I worked at the dealer for about a year then I went to work at an Independent shop which I have been with for 10 years.
I can drive the car for about 20 minutes, and the smoke COMPLETELY vanishes for hours. Start it cold, and smoke.
Something obviously is heating up, and YES there is still oil in the car. Turbo bearing seals? PCV system? There is a wimpy turbo noise at acceleration, and a slight loss of power. Not the normal turbo whine that I am used to. Although the whine has been getting noisier over the last 2 years.
Checked PCV system, no vacuum at oil filler, which suggests clogged PCV system. PCV tube from PCV to Oil filler is clear. There is some residual oil in the Turbo inlet. what next? Does this sound like clogged PCV, or bad turbo? Can I check the turbo bearing/slop from above, or under car?

Answer Clay, Got to give it some nicorette gum to make it stop Smoking. HaHA. Anyway, I have seen this where the car is overfilled with oil, or a Turbo failure, but to be honest, I have never had to replace a Turbo on a S60. I have also never had a clogged flame trap box. The turbo cars do not have a Flame trap filter but something could be blocked somewhere. I would check all the Turbo hoses for holes. That is somehting that happens more frequently. You can check the bearing from the top but do it cold. Roger
