Question Ok. Here is my question. I have a 1990 Volvo 240 DL automatic. The air is not working and I needed to know how to fix it before I spend alot of money. When the car is turned on nd I turn on the air and it does not work, d I need freon or a new compressor? How do I know if the compressor is not working?
Answer Sandra, I dont recommend you trying to fix this on your own. There can be a leak in the system, the compressor can be weak. There are a lot of things that can be wrong and without inspecting it, I would be just guessing what the problem is. Most of the time its just low on refrigerant. This should be dont by qualified Volvo Techs or A/C specialists. Spend a little to get it checked then determine if you want to spend the money to fix it. Personally I would because its a 240 and you cant go wrong with one of those. Roger
