Experience I am a Certified Volvo Tech at in Independent Volvo Repair shop. I grew up around Volvos and decided I wanted to do it professionally. I worked at the dealer for about a year then I went to work at an Independent shop which I have been with for 10 years.
Question looking to buy a 99 v70 auto w165k the car is in great shape and seems like
deal. It appears to need a front u joint and e-brake. I have a fair amount of
repair knowledge, but I am hesitant to purchase an awd volvo because of the
negative feedback from other v70 owners about persistant and expensive
problems.
Are these typically reliable cars if they are serviced regularly or should I
expect specific and chronic issues.
Thank you much.
Dave
Answer Dave, as long as its not the AWD then they arent too bad. Stupid stuff goes bad and door panels and such are a joke. A/C evaporators are another issue. Normal servicing and timing belt services are a must. Front U-joint? Dont you mean CV? Forget the E-brake. Who uses that stuff with an automatic car? Its up to you as far as buying it. Roger
