Question Hey, I squished my fuel tank on my volvo earlier today. I was able to turn it
over and start it but it lasted only a couple of seconds and an low whirring
sound came from the rear (fuel tank?) I was wondering what components are
inside the gas tank that I should be worried about having squished? Could
the tank be cutting off circulation through a wire and maybe I just have to
take it off, tap it out and see what happens?
Answer Hailey, the intank pump and the fuel tank sending unit. You probably bent it because the pump is right there at the bottom of the tank. Tap it out, and inspect the tank unit. If its bent, replace it. This is my last post. Im going on Hiatus for a while. Good luck. ROger
