Volvo Repair - 850 wagon doorlocks

Expert: Roger Patricio - 5/10/2009

Question
We recently purchased a 1994 Volvo 850 Wagon.  It came with no keys. (DMV accepted the title transfer!)  My husband purchased a replacement set off ebay (doorlocks and ignition) but is unable to get the original lock cylinders out of the door to replace them. Is there a trick?

Answer
Marilyn, not really a trick but he does have to take the lock actuator out to access the clip that holds the lock cylinders in place.  The trick is putting things back together. If the one rod doesnt go back into the hole properly on the lock actuator,  the lock will not work.  Hope this helped.  Roger
