QUESTION: 91 Volvo 940 SE Turbo Sedan. How can I determine if I have Anti-lock brakes, I'm pretty sure that I do. When braking last winter I heard the boing-boing sound associated with AL brakes as well as felt the stuttering brake peddle. Found several new part sources on line, but they listed W/ & W/O AL Brakes.

Answer
Joe, you have it.  If you see a big pump with brake lines coming out of it thats the ABS system.  Ive seen a Stuttering pedal caused by rotors.  boing boing sound?  Never heard of that one.  Whats wrong with the master cylinder?  Brake pedal fade?  Roger
