Volvo Repair - Defroster - 1989 Volvo 240

Expert: Roger Patricio - 5/5/2009

Question
Defroster on my 1989 Volvo 240 DL has stopped working (also the "floor air" button doesn't work now) - all fuses are good.  Is this a relay or controller kind of issue?  (The blower fan works fine at all speeds)

Answer
Bruno, it may be the relay but most likely its the unit inside the glass.  Floor air is probably a loose vacuum line at the diverter or I would check the vacuum line at the intake manifold.  Usually its split causing no vacuum to go to the controller.  Check that out and get back to me. Roger
