Question
Hello Roger,

I have a Volvo 850 GLT Wagon (1995 make). Recently, I gave the care for a repair and the mechanic relaxed the driver seat back rest too much. Due to this the back rest is not moving back up to normal position. It can be lowered further but cannot move back. Also the seat is moving forward-backward, up-down. The problem is with the back rest only. Can you help me repair this?

Thank you.

Answer
Geet, I would let a Volvo shop handle this one.  The seat cable needs to be repaired.  Its a common issue with the 850.   The seat material has to be pulled up to access the cable and hog rings would need to be used to close the seat back up.  Sorry.  Roger
