Volvo Repair - s90 parts interoperability and Chiltons.

Question
Hi Roger!  Love your answers!  I enjoy my 1998 s90, and at 150K, she's running strong.  I understand the model was derived from the 960.  What kind of parts from other model Volvos (like the 960) will work with my s90?  Also, most Chilton type books refer to a wide range of volvo models and years... which repair manual would you recommend for someone who won't ever get VIDA access? :)

Answer
Mike Most stuff from the 960's will fit the S90 except fuel system and ignition.  Motronic 1.8 versus 4.4  Chiltons is good for toilet paper in my opinion.  Might be even to rough for that.  Best manuals are the factory manuals.  VADIS is available for smaller shops like ours.  We are waiting for VIDA also.  Not much more I can tell you about it unless you have a specific part you are looking to interchange.  Roger
