Question Hi there Rainy,im a resident of the u.k and feel tom waits fans living here have gotton a raw deal when it comes to tours.
I cannot afford to take a trip into mainland europe (france,italy,spain etc)and so i missed all of his "get behind the mule tour".
My question dear rainy is this,why has waits got a phobia about playing in the u.k.
Reactions here have always been good towards him,and as a result he decideds not to play here (hasnt done since 1987),if he keeps negleting the faithful few here in the u.k, he may lose in terms of record sales!
Answer Wow....... I haven't gotten a question on here for so long, I forgot I was still an "expert!" I feel that I don't know much about this question, but I hate the idea of just clicking the "can't help" button. I really don't know what's keeping Tom out of the UK. I mean, there's nothing that comes to mind. Maybe he doesn't think it would be worth it in comparison to one of the areas in which he's more popular. I do agree though, it might start to negatively affect album sales. Hey, perhaps if that happens he'll finally decide to show up!
Sorry I can't offer much more about this one but I'm stuck over here in America without a ticket either. :( I wish he'd get the mule movin' again...
