Question How easy or hard is it for an 80 year old man who has difficulty walking to get around Disney World?
Answer Hi Susan.
Please urge your dad to reconsider! Another option for you to consider if you are staying on site at WDW is to "borrow" a standard wheel chair from your resort. They will take an imprint of your credit card, but will tear it up when you return the chair in good condition. Disney is truly the happiest place on earth and it can be the vacation of a lifetime.
You asked about the Polynesian. It is my very favorite of all the WDW resorts! Expensive, but well worth it...at least in my humble opinion! Check out Steve Seifort's web site then get back to me if you have any specific questions! www.tikiman2001.homestead.com.
Hope this helps!
