Question Hi Sandy,
My wife and 6 year old daughter and myself are going to Disney World for the first time 11 June thru 17 June.
We have already taken care of Airfare and Hotel but still need to buy park tickets. We are planning on buying them from the Holiday Inn where we are staying is this a good idea? And can you tell me what the Fast Pass System is?
If you have any critical advice for first timers please let me know. Also my daughter wants to have breakfast with the princesses, have you heard of this? How does that work?

Thanks for checking in with us. What a wonderful time I am sure you will have. Be sure to stop at Guest Relations at your first park and get a "First time visitor" button.
With your trip close by, the hotel might be your best bet. You could also buy your tickets at a Disney Store near you. There are several on line discounters that come to mind (Undercover Tourist and more) but it may not be worth it cutting it so close.
A little planning with fast pass allows you to do a lot. A fast pass is basically a ticket that "reserves your spot in line". When you go back to the attraction, you get in a Fastpass line and normally experience 5-15 minute waits. You can get a fast pass every 2 hours or when the beginning time for your current pass has occurred. I like to get a new fast pass before getting on the ride I intend to FP. Sorry, I know this is a little confusing in writing...the trick is toalways have a fastpass in hand. Also Lights, Motor, Action at Disney's Hollywood Studios uses a FastPass but is not tied into the system.
Since you are staying offsite, you are not eligible for extra magic hours. I would select a different park than the one(s) offering EMH each day.
Meals with Princesses are possible but do require reservations and it is late for booking that (Disney opens dining reservations 180 days in advance). You can call 407-WDW-DINE. Here are a few options:
Epcot's Norway restaurant - 3 meals a day, each with 5 princesses
Magic Kingdom Cinderella's Castle - 3 meals a day with princess, dinner is a different format and the characters do not visit the table
Grand Floridian's 1900 Park Fare - dinner (Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother and the mice)
