Question
Hi.  My husband and I are traveling to WDW in August of 08.  I am trying to save money now to have then.  We have the dinning plan, one full service meal, one fast service meal and one snack.  Do you think $100 a day for spending money will be good.  My daughter is two years old. Or what would be a more reasonable figure?  My mother is traveling with us with her two younger children 11 and 5 with the same meal plan.  Would spending for her be more?

Answer
Nichole

Since you both already have the dining plan, I would up that $100 figure to $125 in spending for each day  for the  3 of you.  When my family of 3 go (mine is 19 now), I usually allocate about $250 per day and that would be without the meal plan.  You must remember, that gratuities are not included in the plan and that you will receive a bill for them at the end of the table service meals.
Keep in mind that you will need to drink lots of fluids and that does get expensive $2.00 for a bottle of water and you should drink plenty.

For your mother and the 2 older children, I think the $150 would be sufficent also.  You may want to allocate spending money for each child so that unexpected souveniers do not blow the budget.  We used to give my daughter $100 for the week to spend on whatever she liked.

Better to plan on the high side and have money left over than to be caught short.
