About Sara
Expertise
I can answer questions on most things to do with Walt Disney World - the resorts, the 4 major parks, the restaurants and the Disney Cruise Line.

Experience
I have stayed at or been to 90% of the resorts, ridden virtually every ride, eaten at many restaurants - both sit-down and counter service and cruised on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. I have traveled to Walt Disney World over 10 times and plan vacations for myself as well as friends and family every year.

Walt Disney World - WDW during Halloween week

Expert: Sara - 7/28/2008

Question
If my travel plans are flexible withing October, is there any reason I should avoid WDW during the last week of Oct?  I picked that week due to the nice weather, a slower time of year, etc but now wondering if it will be a "zoo" due to Halloween.  And if I keep travel plans for that week, which night should I do the MNSSHP to avoid crowds?  Either the 26th or the 28th would be the better ones, I believe.  Thoughts about this week and this event?  Thanks, will be travelling with 2 preschoolers and 2 teenagers.

Answer
There are two weeks in October that are more crowded than others - Columbus Day week and Halloween week. The closer you get to Halloween, the more crowded MNSSHP is. If you can, I recommend traveling the week in between these two holidays - Oct 19 - 25th. Good luck! It's a wonderful time of year in WDW and a lot of fun.
