Question
QUESTION: Hi Mandy, My family are travelling to wdw 6th sept - 13th. Could you tell me best park to be at for dining at California Grill and how to get there. Dinner is for 8pm should we go straight there from park or go back to hotel Carrabean beach resort. We want to spend most poss time at park and cut travel time . Please advise on Narcoosees as well. How hi is the dress code for these resturants. Thanks for your help. Regards Susan
ANSWER: HI Susan,
The park located nearest to both Narcoosees and Cali Grill is the Magic Kingdom. To dine at Cali Grill when you exit MK board the monorail and exit at Contempory Resort (first stop), the restuarant is located on the top floor, there is also a walkway for MK to Contemporary. For Narcoosees again board monorail and exit at Grand Floridian (4th stop). The dress code for Disney Signature resturants is business casual meaning for men: jeans, dress shorts, t shirt or long sleeve shirt with collar, dress pants, for women: dress, dress shorts, jeans, skirts, dress pants, blouse, sweater. I would allow 20 minutes for travel to Cali Grill, it is i very close proximity to MK, however the ride on the monorail over and time getting to resturant could take as long as 20 min and 30 for Narcoosees. QUESTION: Hi Mandy, thanks for your answer it is really helpfull. We may possibly return to hotel room for shower to freshen up for dinner (carrabean bech resort), if so how long we would need for travel back from MK and how long do we allow and how hard is it to get to california grill from there, we dont want to roll up to dinner smelling like a dead kangaroo. Susan,
We always head back for showers and to allow the kids to rest a bit before we head to dinner as well. The buses do not travel from resort to resort, therefore you would still take the bus back to MK and follow the same plan, walk/monorail to Contempory for Cali Grill and monorail to GF for Narcoosee's. I would allow at least 1 hr to catch the bus, then monorail etc. Sometimes Disney transportation, esp. buses can be slow. I know 1 hr to get somewhere that is only 10 min away seems like a waste of time, however you don't want to end up running to dinner and smelling like that Kangaroo anyhow!! Which we have done ourselves years ago and now try to plan accordingly. Hope this helps and if you have any further question please ask.
