Walt Disney World - Mothers Day Weekend

Expert: Ron Murdza - 3/11/2004

Question
I have heard and read that late, late April & early May are a great time to visit WDW, however I also read that Mother's Day is considered a mojor holiday with WDW Restaurants and therefore require a credit card deposit when booking PS for this day.  Is this the policy at all WDW Restaurants or just a select few?  Also is Mother's Day Weekend more crowded than normal for early May in the theme parks?  I hope not too crowded.
               Thanks, Dennis

Answer
Sorry it took me so long to reply but I did not get the original email form All Experts until receiving a reminder notice today that I had a pending question.

ANyway, to anwer your questions, I am unsure on the cc deposit for dinners on Mother Day but what I can tell you is that the begininning of May is an ideal time to go.  he temperatures are not too too hot and the crowds are  not bad at all (Mostly because Florida Schools are still in session)  We usually take our trip every May (first 2 weeks) and they are perfect!  As far as Mothers Day itself, I can probably speculate that crowds will be higher during Mothers Day Weekend but it most likely drops after the Sunday or Monday.  We have been down there for Mothers Day int he past and did not notice any incredible peaks in crowds after Sunday

Hope this helps
ROn
