Question Can you suggest ways, or refer me to any free sites on the net, for examples of common bonus plans used in Warehouse/Distribution environments.
Also, discipline plans for sub-standard performance.
Thank You
Answer General Human Resource policies and procedures give the discipline plan as a three step process. Some companies make it four - Verbal warning or coaching session to discuss production and accuracy. Then written notice of sub standard performance, then second written notice with the ending stating that if performance does not significantly (quantify) improve then the next step will be payroll separation. If no improvement, then a letter outlining their termination.
Incentives are all over the board. Some consultants and experts think that money incentives are the best. First you must know your cost base. If production improves by a certain percentage, then you could give monthly or bi annual bonus. All experts do agree that an incentive should be at specific times of the year and not added into their hourly pay. Base pay for base work. Manhattan Associates has a wonderful program for incentive based pay.
