Good luck to you in this new endeavor. I am not sure exactly what you are looking for in different types of systems. Are you looking for rack and shelving systems or for computer programs? In either case you can probably find many suppliers and suggestions by Googling the terms associated with what you are seeking. If it is a system for the computer then you are looking for a "Warehouse Management System" or WMS and there are many suppliers with a wide variety of sophistications. If it is storage equipment then look for racking and shelving.
There is literature available from the trade and professional association related to logistics. Some of these are WERC, CSCMP or IWLA and info can be had at their websites.
