Question I’m trying to create a loss prevention procedure on shipping. We ship primarily through the USPS and on occasion we will have a customer who insists they did not receive an order even though our delivery confirmation shows that the package was successfully delivered. Since it is possible the package may have been stolen after it was left, we are considering upgrading to Signature Confirmation on orders of a certain dollar amount but what’s to stop a customer from denying that they signed for it?
We are curious how other companies handle the above issues. Any insight would be appreciated.
Very kind regards,
Brian

We do not utilize USPS to any extent, mostly I am familiar with UPS, DHL and FEDEX. It seems to me that if a customer signs for the package the chances of a claim for non-delivery are slim as you have a receipt with their signature. I believe you are on the right path for your more valuable orders.
