Question I had a coach in high school named Joe McGowan. He often told us he played for the Redskins and Saints, but I can not find any thing about him on any of the roster pages. The pages I can find state at the top of the page that for a player to be named on that roster they must have played in a game for that season. It is possible that he was there just not in the games. Can you help me verify that the coach I admired so much as a kid was not lying to me?
Answer Many people were apart of NFL teams for training camp, free agent tryouts or the exhibition season but never actually "made" the regular season team. I am sure the player you were referring to was apart of an NFL camp but never played or on a regular season game team.
I have no record of Mr. McGowan apart of the Redskins or Saints team.
