Dear Mr. Mckenzie,

You need to double check your sources.

I know Albert Green Reese personally and have seen alumini photos and his Super Bowl ring.

He didn't play many games due to a knee injury, but he did indeed play for the Washington Redskins as well as the Canadian League.

Mr. Reese is now a lawyer and he indeed played for the redskins. He even has a superbowl ring.

I was at a party Friday night where there was an Albert Reese #97 who said he was a Redskin but was on Injured Reserve during the Superbowl XXII season. I could not find him as a starter or a player. This was a Superbowl XXII players reunion in Northern VA

Do you know anything about a player named James Wood? Has he played in the Washington organization?

"A Friend" is partially correct. So is Mr. McKinsie. Al Reese was part of the Redskins franchise, but it's a misnomer to say he "played." He was injured during training camp and never appeared in a single game. He sure loves to show that Super Bowl ring everyone who will look though ... and he acts as if he was a valuable part of the team. It's a bit pathetic, actually, that he uses his extraordinarily limited affiliation with the Redskins to his benefit--to impress women, to win business, and to get out of legal charges. He'd use it to get a parking space if it would help.

Also, he never played for the Canadian League; he played for the SD Chargers for a season or two.

al never bragged or acted as a valuable player. he only shows his ring to people who ask about it. he does not go showing off

I personally know him and he has NEVER even mentioned his "ring" to me or his affiliation with anything like this.  He has never even mentioned that he played professional ball and the closest thing he ever said was "the level that he reached" which could mean college ball for as far as I knew.  I only learned of it through a mutual friend who told me about it.  He is the sweetest most kindhearted person!

I worked with Albert Reuse before, he's a real stand up dude. He doesn't show off the ring either.

I had met Al Reese at a Jiffy Lube in Penn Hills we had a great conversation and seem very nice. I wish him the best. Hank

Albert Reese indeed was a Redskin - I knew him very well at the time and was on injured reserve that year.

I was best friends with Al Reese in Va we were always around Big Name Redskins at his house and at theirs, Al never proclaimed to be anything more than he is !

Al is a First class guy. He never speaks of football or his ring...that is unless a kid or an oldtimer approaches him with a question on the subject.  He is great with children... His or any that he may come in contact with. He is a well respctef emenber of the ACBA and the local community.

I've personally met and dealt with him. He is kind, wonderful and not at all boastful. I know he's a lawyer and very well respected, and it was purely by accident that I found out he had any affiliation with professional football, let alone been a part of the Redskins. He's a good man.
