Question
What were the Horses Name or Names that were ridden in John Wayne EARLY WESTERNS. They were Beautiful white horses like silver from Lone Ranger? Don't know if there were one, or several.

Thanks

Answer
Hello Sandra,

The horse you are thinking of  was called DUKE. John Wayne rode him in a half-dozen westerns in the early 1930's:

The Man from Monterey (1933)
Somewhere in Sonora (1933)
The Telegraph Trail (1933)
Haunted Gold (1932)
The Big Stampede (1932)
Ride Him, Cowboy (1932)

The horse was sometimes billed as "Duke The Wonder Horse", "Devil Horse Duke", and "Duke The Miracle Horse".

Glad to be of help. Cheers........Mel.
