Question
How many WESTERNS  did John Wayne die in ??? I only know of two .The Cowboys and Truee Grie..

Answer
Hello Lynn,

John Wayne is seen to die in just two 'Westerns', "The Cowboys" (1972) and "The Shootist" (1976).

In "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (1962) he is already dead (from old age) at the start of the film and the story is told in flashback, so you do not actually see him die in it.

He also dies in "The Alamo" (1960), but I don't know if you would regard that as a 'Western' or not.

He did not die in "True Grit".

Glad to be of help. Cheers.........Mel.
