Question
I was recently on a hunting trip to southern Arizona south of Tucson, very near the mexican border and we drove by a very large house on a hill with a large front porch which was in the middle of nowhere and I know I saw this house in a John Wayne Movie. This house was very prominent in the movie.Do you know the name of the movie

Answer
If the house was in a movie, there's no reason it had to be used in a film involving the southwest U.S. Locations are used based on how they look, not where they are. _Stagecoach_, for instance, about a trip in southern Arizona, was filmed in Monument Valley, hundreds of kilometers away. The movie you recall could have been _Dakota_ for all we know. Thus, the location of the house gives no useful info to help identify the film it may have been in.

"a very large house on a hill with a large front porch which was in the middle of nowhere" describes a lot of homes. "a John Wayne movie" describes a lot of films. Without significantly more information, I doubt anyone could know which house goes with which film.

Even if I saw a photo of the home, I doubt I would recognize it. I just don't pay that much attention to film sets. For instance, I've stood right in front of a set where a VERY famous scene in _Rio Bravo_ was filmed, but I would never have recognized it without the sign telling me the scene was filmed there.

Sorry I can't help you.

Wayne, John

Expertise

I have seen ALMOST every film with an appearance by The Duke, made since 1940, and a few dozen of those before then. If it's a film with him, I've most likely seen it, have an opinion on it, and can try to answer questions about it. I have no usable expertise for films not starring John Wayne.

Experience

I saw my first film in which Wayne stars almost fifty years ago. Since then, I have seen over 120 films where he makes an appearance.
