AboutPaul Rabe Expertise I have seen ALMOST every film with an appearance by The Duke, made since 1940, and a couple dozen of those before then. If it's a film with him, I've most likely seen it, have an opinion on it, and can try to answer questions about it.
Experience I saw my first film where Wayne makes an appearance almost fifty years ago. Since then, I have seen 102 films where he makes an appearance.

Answer It's no problem to find John Wayne's filmography:
www.imdb.com/name/nm0000078
Recognizing that (1) he was not the star in all of them -- indeed, in some, he was a bit player -- (2) the exact genre of a film isn't always clear, and (3) some of these are TV appearences; I went to
www.imdb.com/list
and asked for a list of all non-TV films (thus shorts are included with features) listed as "western" where John Wayne appears, either on-screen or as a narrator. It gave back 95 films, from _The Great K & A Train Robber_ to _Circus World_ to _The Shootist_.
