Question Have you ever heard of Dick Shane, or JD Hennings,or JD Hayes?
They claim to have done stunt work with John Wayne.

Dick Shane was a well known stuntman/horse wrangler in the late 60's/early 70's, mostly on TV shows like "The Virginian". I don't know of any connection between Shane and John Wayne, but he could well have been employed to work on some of Wayne's films without receiving a screen credit.
