Web Design/index page and flash file

Hi Daniel,
For some reason, my flash file isn't showing up on my home/index page on my website ( I've been told that I have to insert the intro.swf file into the index page, but I don't know where. Can you please help?

Hi Carolyn

Sorry for the delay, yes you need to insert the html code that links to the .swf file.

You will need input code similar to below in the table cell that is currently empty or wherever you want the .swf to appear.

You will need to adjust the width and heights to the same size as your .swf. The intro .png is to add a png image rather than the .swf if they can't play flash. For example ipads and iphones can't show .swf's.

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="intro.swf" width="752" height="500">
<param name="movie" value="intro.swf" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<img src="intro.png" alt="Please Download Flash" width="752" height="392" />

Let me know if there is anything else.

I can answer questions on most areas of web design & development - including: html5, css3, JavaScript, php, search engine optimisation, mobile web development & responsive design.

I have been in the web design & development sector for 10 years and have been running my own web design company for 10 years. Working with lots of completed projects within that time.

I have mostly been self taught which is the way I learn best. I have been on lots of training courses, read lots & lots of books. Within this sector though I find the best way to learn is to get stuck in.
