Web Hosting Advice - Domain name owner

Expert: Thomas Kracht - 2/25/2008

Question
Hi,
Is there a way I can find out who is the owner of a domain name? And also the web hosting company of that website?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Wen,

To find the registered owner of a domain you will need to do a whois check. Which can be done at http://www.betterwhois.com.
Once you look up the domain scroll down until you see "Registrant Contact" or "Administrative Contact" these will 99% of the time be the owner of the domain. To find the web host of the domain look for the "Nameserver:" space this will be helpful in finding the web host. If you are unable to find the web host and/or owner of the domain feel free to ask me for help again but make it a private question and include the domain name.
