Web Hosting Advice - Gmail Issue

Expert: Lola Brooks - 3/3/2009

Question
Lately, whenever I try to log into my gmail I get the following message:

Request-URI Too Large
The requested URL /accounts/ServiceLogin... is too large to process.

Can you please help me understand what the problem is and how to remedy it?

Thank you

Answer
It sounds like the URL (or web address) that is being produced contains more characters than the browser you are using is equipped to handle.

I'm not sure what browser you are using so there are two things you can do in an attempt to remedy the situation.

Use a different browser to see if this fixes the problem. You can also type only the main gmail address in address bar to see if this corrects the problem.

Other than that, the only advice I can give you is to look in the google mail support area for a thread mentioning this specific issue, the address is below:
http://mail.google.com/support/

I hope this helps.
