I am in the process of trying to design a web site for charitable donations for a union brother whose son is in dire need of a heart transplant. I have the information I need to set it up. My question is: Do you need to pay a web host to put your website on the internet or is there some place I can post my website for free? I am drawing up a email to be sent to the UA web site with a link to my website so if anyone is interested in donating to this cause they can clink on the link to the website for more information.

To make your site appear to be more professional you might want to consider paying for hosting.  Yahoo has really affordable hosting for a monthly fee and a program that will help you design your site to make it easier on you.  There are also some sites that offer you free web hosting but you will be required to place advertisements within your site that you have no control over.  Just google free web hosting to see what is available.
