Subject: Multi-User Blog Software

Question
Hello, hope this is in the correct place, I am looking for a multi-user blog software for free, I checked up on Wordpress MU but it requires .htaccess which my host does not allow on free accounts, I wish to allow my users to sign up for their own blogs but do not know where to find one, what would you suggest to use?

Answer
Hey Jerod,
Well the thing you should know if you ever start a site with a MULTI HOSTING script on it, like forums, blogs, image galleries etc. you need some money to spend and some good hosting.

Almost all of these scripts will require some sort of database access which can be granted through different things, and if they don't allow htaccess I don't think you find they allow the required access gateways needed either.

First try to get a good host, second when you have your htaccess get Wordpress for sure, since it is easy to use and skin for everyone. It is free and easily upgradeable and it is the fastest and lightest blog system with lots of free skins and mods for it available.

I can't really think of anything that doesn't need some sort of access, that might be lower or greater than the ht database.

Well that's about it; hope it works,
Behrad
