WebTV Problems - auto demo won't stop

Expert: Emma - 1/5/2007

Question
Hi, Emma
I live in Colorado, and my mother in Illinois has Web TV. I visited her last week, and I used her Web TV to log into the American Airlines website to verify my flight back to Colorado last Friday. I wasn't able to print a boarding pass because when I selected the screen to do that and pressed Enter, nothing happened.
She just called me to say that her Web TV hasn't worked properly since then. She says a screen called "Auto Demo" appears, blocking part of the TV picture. She says various menus flash by very quickly. One of them asks for a password but doesn't wait for her to enter it before another screen replaces it.

She called the MSNTV help number (866-466-7688) and the person she talked to wasn't able to suggest anything that would help. Do you know anything that might make the auto demo stop flashing on her screen?  Thanks very much for any information.
Alyce Barry

Answer
sorry,,ive never heard of an "auto demo" coming up...the only thing i can think of to do is to unplug the unit for about 30 minutes..that should clear the units memory...if not...then go to the help page on the home page and find the "clear cookies"...then clear the cookies...
