WebTV Problems - When webtv is hooked up msn only wants to dial long distance numbers.

Question
My parents got a friend of theirs a webtv for xmas.  When they tried to get online msn told them that it would be long distance numbers.  They are in the same area.  So I know that is not possible.  So are they doing something wrong or over looking something?

Thanks Megan

Answer
your box uses a phone line to connect to the webtv network service...the first time it connects, it will try to find a local access phone number to dial...if a local access number cannot be found in your area, you might want to use a local internet service provider..ISP...to connect to the service..using an isp lets you connect to the web without paying long distance charges..webtv network will also discount your monthly service fee if you pick this option..check the "account" from the webtv home page for more info...you can also call 1-800-GO-WEBTV..and tell them the trouble you are having...im sure they can remedy the problem..
