Question QUESTION: I've got an ordained minister to perform my wedding ceremony; she's the sister-in-law of a friend of mine. She can't find her "number", and says she has to have it to sign the marriage license. My friend mentioned looking it up online.. Is there any way for me to help her look it up?
ANSWER: Hi Madeline:
I am a little confused as to why you don't have a contract with her and why your friend does not know her sister-in-laws phone number. That being said, if you type her name in a search engine such as Google, she may come up.
I would suggest typing in her first and last name along with the word minister and see what happens.
This is really the only way I can think of to locate her.
I hope this helps. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me again.
Happy planning,
Wendy Wuitschick, CWP

QUESTION: Wendy,
I'm sorry I wasn't very clear. This was a last minute thing, finding the minister; we're having a very small wedding, and had a hard time finding a minister to begin with. She's already agreed to perform the ceremony... I was referring to her "ministry number"; I don't know what it's actually called. But I guess some type of "id" that she needs to be able to sign the license. As of now, we're just trying to find a phone number she can call and get her "number" so we'll be all set. Does that make better sense?
Answer Hi Madeline:
YES! That does make far more sense! LOL I don't know where you live, but why do you need that before the ceremony. They shouldn't have to put their ministry number on the marriage license until she signs it after the ceremony.
Does your state require you to have it on there when applying for your license?
