Question
Hello,
i am looking to have a small informal ceremony on the beach with about 50 people.  we then either want to have a party in a house that we rent on the beach or have a sit down dinner.  we are trying to cut down on people and save money.  we want to do this in Connecticut.  Do you have any ideas at all for places to have the wedding or some sites to look on to find venues.? Basically i'm pretty clueless so ANY help you can offer would be great.  Thanks so much and let me know if you need more info- i just didn't want to write a book.  :)

Answer
Carrie:

The first place I would suggest looking (assuming you don't want to hire a coordinator) is the Knot and your local rental real estate agent. The Knot (knot.com) will be able to tell you about venues in your local area. A rental real estate agent will be able to tell you about local homes that can be rented for the weekend.

I would strongly suggest speaking with a coordinator to see if you could get a vendor referral on spaces in your area. This will save you on time and frustration, not to mention that coordinators usually have a little something up their sleeve that not everyone know about.

Good luck!
~Shannon
