Weddings - wedding ceremony

Expert: Reverend John Fliris - 1/30/2008

Question
what part of the reading of the wedding ceremony do you mention children that already exist from the mother that will join this marriage?  Also is it okay to have a money tree at the reception because they already live together and have all the necessities?

Answer
Dear Paige: I usually will talk about them in one or two parts... if the opening is going to talk about your committment to one another and the joining of your families... I would add something about the children, and in the unity candle or sand ceremony I would add them as part of that ceremony. It can be written any way you want.
