Question
QUESTION: Hi, I am an a wedding planner in the making, I am planning my first wedding. However, I am stuck with attempting to organize this cocktail/hourd session. THe wedding is at a plantation. The ceremony will be in front of the house and the receception in the back. The house is huge and has great space, should I use different locations for the cockt/HDr's and the reception. I have seen it done differently. The appetizers we are using is very simple Fruit veggies, crab cakes...should they be served indoors?

ANSWER: Hi Frances:

Given that I am not familiar with the property you are using, it would be hard for me to tell you how to set the space up.  Do they have a website that I can go to see the property?

As for the Hors d' Oeuvres, you can serve them outside or inside.  Just make sure there is enough space for all the guests to move around comfortably because you do not want it to become over crowded should you choose an indoor option.

I hope this helps.  If there is a website for the property, let me know so that I can assist you further.

Warm regards,
Wendy Wuitschick

QUESTION: yes there is... www.jasmineplantation.com

Answer
Hi Frances:

With a large property such as this, I would try to utilize as much of the outdoor space as possible.  There is plenty of space to have the cocktail hour outdoors and in an area all its own.  It was hard to tell, but I am not keen on the inside of the house for the cocktail hour as it looks like it might get a little to congested.  If you look at the aerial view, there is an area to the left of the house that would be a nice location to set up the cocktail hour.  It looks like it might be in the back of the house near the tent but the tent could not be seen in this shot so I am not certain.

I hope this helps.  Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me again.

Warm regards,
Wendy Wuitschick
