Question
I am attending an early April wedding at 3pm with cocktails at 5pm then reception following.  What type of dress is appropriate?  Thanks

Answer
Hi Elaine:

Because of the time of day, I am assuming this is not a formal affair and therefore would not require a formal cocktail dress.  That being said, a nice suit or dress would be appropriate unless it is a very causal wedding and then I would refrain from wearing a suit.

I would stay away from black for an afternoon wedding even though the reception is in the evening.

I hope this helps.  Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me again.

Warm regards,
