Weddings - wedding colors

Question
I am creating a wedding website. I don't want to seem like I am telling people what to wear so I am having trouble wording this. I need my guests to know that the wedding is outdoors, at sunset, the atmosphere will be somewhere between semi-formal and informal. (I would like women to wear dresses and men nice slacks/dress shirts, tuxs not needed). And I don't know if I should tell them my wedding colors. I don't want them to feel like they have to coordinate with my colors, but I am sure they are curious. I also want to know if there is a tactful way to let guests know we are not registering anywhere. We really just wanted money for the honeymoon. What else should my website include??? Please help and thanks SO MUCH in advance!

Answer
Hi Brandi:

A wedding website should be a reflection of you and your fiance.  They can be very simple with just a few pages or more elaborate sharing every last detail.  Whatever you decide, here are some of the more common pages:

Wedding Details
RSVP
Maps and Directions
Photo Gallery
How you met

As for telling guests what to wear you might state on the wedding details page that you always wanted an outdoor wedding at sunset and now your dream is being fulfilled. Describe the location so that your guests can envision what it might look like.  Then at the end of your description, add "so Dresses, Dress Shirts, and Dress Slacks would be perfectly suitable."  Stating it this way is much more acceptable because you really aren't telling your guests what to wear, just what would be suitable for the location.

I hope this helps.  Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me again.

Warm regards,
Wendy Wuitschick
