Experience I''ve been a wedding coordinator for 16 years. I authored a WEDDING PLANNING GUIDE, a Bride''s Workbook, that is available in local bridal shops. Tattered Cover Bookstores in Denver, CO as well as local Borders Books and through my website. I''ve worked with weddings from just 2 people to 350 guests and all budget ranges. I've also written and teach The Art of Wedding Coordination to those who want to become wedding coordinators.
Question My question is this: The officiant at our wedding is my boss and I like her style of dress to begin with. She is very thin and much younger-looking for (40-ish) She has asked me if I have an idea of what she wants to wear. I have never really seen her officiate a wedding before, so have not had the occasion to see her dressed up. Should I worry or trust her judgement? She knows the setting and the colors of the wedding party though; brown/ivory for an outdoor sunset beach ceremony.
Answer Hi Maria,
Most officiants will wear black or navy blue suits. If they have a robe they may wear it (which is what I wear when I officiate). You'll be okay going with either of these suggestions.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
