Subject: Copies of contracts with other vendors

Question
Hi Shannon,

I'm new in the wedding coordinating business and I've noticed that other coordinators require their clients to provide copies of their contracts with other vendors. Is this necessary and what purpose will they serve?

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Gina:

The purpose behind planners getting copies of the contracts is so that we can review the contracts to be certain that come the day of the event the client is getting exactly what they contracted. Also, when reviewing the contracts a planner can usually catch something that could cause an issue the day of the wedding. (i.e. the cake is scheduled to be delivered at 2 pm but we can't get into the room until 4 pm.)

Being a professional wedding planner, you have to be prepared for anything and everything.

Good luck and let me know if I can help with your learning process.
~Shannon
