Subject: When to send Bridal Shower Invitations Out?

Question
QUESTION: I needed to know what's the timeline for sending out Bridal Shower invitations. i.e. 2 weeks, 4 weeks, ?

Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Vicky,
Firstly, please accept my apologies for not answering sooner; I'm having difficulties with the AllExperts system, and didn't know your question was waiting.

Typically, bridal shower invitations should be mailed three to four weeks before the date of the shower. This gives guests ample time to respond with their attendance plans, make travel arrangements if necessary, and find an appropriate gift.

If many of the guests are out-of-towners who will need to travel to the city where they shower is to be held, then it might be best to send the invitations out five to six weeks before the shower.

Thanks very much for your question,
Richelle

QUESTION: Where can one go to get really pretty specialty paper inexpensive? (Cheap)i.e. paper mills, Internet

Answer
Hi Vicky,
Once again I must apologize for the delay in an answer - hopefully we'll have this issue resolved soon.

For inexpensive, pretty papers that you can print on, check out local craft and scrapbooking stores. Scrapbooking paper is generally 12" x 12", which you can cut down  --  creating several invitations out of a single sheet. Many craft shops carry inexpensive invitation kits; even Target now sells beautiful letterpress invitation kits for a relatively low price.

Online, you can find many different types of stores; if you know the kind and the name of the paper you want, Ebay and Etsy may be a good place to start. Otherwise, there are many different companies that carry papers and products for invitations and other paper crafts - try a google search for "DIY invitations" or "Do it yourself shower invitations," and you'll be surprised what comes up.

Best wishes,
Richelle
