Question
My bridesmaids are wearing a deep purple that can look like brown or black when standing alone. They will be wearing a black sash and black shoes to tie them into the black tuxes and help show the contrast between the black and purple. The groomsmen are wearing black tuxes with peridot bow ties/vests. Any suggestions for helping these colors coordinate better? Maybe black bow ties/vests would look better? Maybe a different color all together? Or would making the bridesmaids bouquets with a lot of green/peridot help tie them in to the groomsmen? The bride is wearing all white. Any suggestions you have would be much appreciated!!

Answer
Hi Erin:

If the dresses are so dark that they almost look black, then adding a black sash won't show any contrast at all.  I would opt for a peridot sash instead to have them coordinate better with the groomsmen and possibly choose a lighter shade of purple.  This way you can tell that the dresses are purple and they will not be mistaken for another color.

I hope this helps.  Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me again.

Happy planning,
