Weddings - Wedding ceremonies and reception

Question
We want to have an open invitation to our church for the ceremony (placing this in the bulletin at church), but want to limit the number of people we have at the reception.  The reception is going to be at the same church.  What is the best way to handle this?
Thanks

Answer
Tricky one! You want everyone to feel welcome and part of your day but not have everyone for the reception.

I would suggest your bulletin at the church will state the time of the ceremony and then say followed by a reception for family members. Send out the invitations to your guests for the reception.

Or you could provide little favors for everyone that attends the ceremony as a thank you for sharing your special day, this way you can then say good bye to them nicely rather than have them hanging around.

Good luck!
