About Gary & Teri
Expertise
My main specialties are invitations, catering, and banquet locations or in general, wedding receptions. Started as a family business over 75 years ago I now own and operate a catering & banquet facility for over 30 years and have catered small cookout events to large formal ones with everything in between. I even had an event that was attended by the President of the United States. I have been involved with over three thousand weddings and have been told that I have seen and done it all. I must reply almost, because something new always pops up.

Experience
I have preformed almost every service needed at a reception from invitations, hosting and catering the event to photographing, dj and honeymoon plans with the latter being special circumstances. I have worked and hosted weddings up to 750 guest and other functions up to two thousand. With well over 30 years experiance of consulting with brides I have seen much of what works and does not.
I have also been involved with many business and orginizational functions and also have been listed in "Who's Who" business and executive edition.

Weddings - bouquet holder

Expert: Gary & Teri - 6/7/2009

Question
I just watched the demo for the new "Gala" bouquet holder. I have been looking for something like this for years.I understand it is designed to hold fresh flowers, what about silk flowers? Will it hold the heavier silk flowers in a large bouquet? Or is there another product out there like the Gala holder designed for silk? Please advise. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Debra, While it can be used for silk the main purpose is that it can keep fresh flowers watered so they last all day(s). Most any styrofoam floral holder can do the same for silk since you do not need the water aspect. The Gala bouquet holder does make it nice since it is preformed with a handle though. As for how much can it hold weight wise? Since I do not know what you have or plan on really doing with it The best comparison I can say is take an ordinary block of wet floral foam and stick what you want in it, if it holds it and holds up (incase you plan on throwing it) then the Gala bouquet holder will do also. But if you need additional power to hold the arrangement simply get some tape or wire etc. and wrap around the stem and secure it to the holder.
