Weddings - Where do divorsed parents sit in the church ceremony
Expert: Wendy Wuitschick - 6/30/2009
Question MY husband is divorsed from his first wife and we will be attending his son's wedding. He is paying for the wedding, rehearsal dinner and is very close with his son. He ex-wife said he should sit behind her in the church, is this correct? She is extremely mean, and I find this very hurtful. Just want to make sure this is the normal sitting for divorsed parents.
Answer Hi Lorraine:
Unfortunately your husband's ex is correct. That being said, today many couples are choosing to forge their own path and throw etiquette out the door when it comes to matters such as this. I would talk to your step-son and his fiance and see what their thoughts are on this. It is their wedding after all.
I hope this helps. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me again.
