Weddings - What is the proper dress for reception?

Expert: Weddings Etc LLC - 6/25/2009

Question
We plan to our ceremony with close friends and family on a weekday.  Then we will hold our reception dinner couple months later.
So what is the proper dress I should have at the dinner? does it looks odd if I still wear the bridal gown since we will not have any ceremony at the dinner.

Answer
Dear Harhar,

I see nothing wrong with wearing your wedding gown to the reception.  People would love to see it and it's another opportunity for you to enjoy your special dress!  Go ahead and wear it.  However, if you wore a veil, you probably don't want to wear this, but do have your hair done with maybe flowers or a barrette or hair band to complete your outfit.

Most of my clients who have belated receptions opt to wear their wedding attire.

Hope this helps.  Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
