Question
my question is do you think i can pull off a decent wedding on a budget of $1000.00 if we already have the wedding gown and family will be doing the reception food and the bride has an aunt that has a flower shop so hopefully the flowers are taken care of and she also has another aunt who does wedding cakes.groom has an aunt who take pictures for a living so she do those for free.i think all i have to pay for is 3 tux rentals and a maid of honor dress and assseries.

Answer
Hi Brenda,

First, it would depend on the number of guests invited.  It certainly sounds like it might work, but don't forget to include rentals - glasses, table service, tables, chairs, bar (if having one), officiant fees, music, dance floor and invitations.  It's my guess that it will come pretty close.  Where is the wedding going to be?  You may have to figure in a site fee as well.  Do they require an insurance rider?  These are just some things to consider.

It's a lot less expensive to have a late morning or afternoon wedding than and evening one because you don't generally have the full bar or dance.

Hope this helps.  Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

While it's great you have family and friends willing to do these things, be careful as it can be extremely difficult working with them as it's hard to tell them "no".  Be sure they understand what the bride wants and does that.
